old news now, but i was at green man and saw david wrench helping out with both james yorkeston and radio luxembourg. it was quite cool to see him in action.

also i found a band called cats in paris who are very gorkys/grandaddy ish. they're really good.
life is pain... anyone who tells you different is trying to sell you something.

sorry that post was so rubbish, but green man was a while ago and i'd been meaning to say it since then.

ijust got the new gorwel and fiona album - anybody heard this? it's very acoustical and pretty.

I didnt even know this existed to be honest!!a quick search reveals that the album features both John Lawrence and Alun Tan Lan..hmmm....now which high street shop can i buy that from then??!?
i said thats nothing-you should hear me play piano.

i got it posted out from cob records in bangor... alongside the radio luxembourg e.p.
'spring always comes' is rawer than 'in between' was. i remember reading on their blog they'd recorded loads of drum parts with peter richardson but either scrapped them or saved the material for the next album, going with much simpler, laid back production on this one. i'm still cogitating it. so far it's good, but i don't quite get it yet.

honestly though, the cats in paris album is awesome... quite reminscent of bwyd time for it's middle section.

cats in paris are very good. lot of fun live. my old housemate drums for them. he has a fetching moustache.

david wrench going back to doom folk, with julian cope's black sheep backing. i've not listened to it yet, but the liner notes are fantastic.
